The Bar Golfing Society

The Bar Golfing Society was founded in 1903 and is open to all members and former members of the Bar of England and Wales.

The Society organises over thirty fixtures throughout the year with the highlight being the tournament which takes place annually in the Whitsun vacation at the end of May-early June. The tournament has previously been held at a variety of Championship Courses including Rye, Deal, Royal St George’s, Royal Birkdale, Littlestone, Hunstanton and Royal Porthcawl. The tournament for 2026 is to be held at Royal St George’s.

Other fixtures include matches against clubs and societies including the Lloyd’s Golf Club, the London Stock Exchange Golfing Society, the Wine Trade, the Barrister’s Clerks Golfing Society and the Bar Golfing Societies of Ireland and Scotland.

The Society currently has 400 members from all branches of the Bench and Bar and welcomes new members including those who are new to the Bar or to the game.
